there would be about 600 people at the PM's banquet
but the Embassy said this was likely to rise to
about 700.

and the special boxes obtained from Bryant and May
for packing the matches, accordingly with air safety
regulations.
Smoked salmon for the banquet.
For Gou qucali
AGHF recommended 150 lbs in weight (30 times 51b sides
but this scale of order needs to be checked as it
allows 4 oz per head and 3 ozs probably would be
adequate. After investigation the best and cheapest
supplier turned out to be the NAAFI (Mr Cook of the
Export Branch tel no 735 1200 ex 266), who could
cxcut sides
supply and pack in dry ice for just under £2 per lb.
iv) 2000 cigarettes are also required for the banquet and
can likewise be supplied by Mr Cook.
v)
The Embassy asked for a private order to be sent on
the aircraft (see folio
on 2/V/37) and Mr Cook
was also arranging.
