The Commodore Hong Kong has been delegated the following commitments outside the Hong Kong Sea Defence area by CINCFLEET:
a.
Responsibility for the protection of British Shipping
off the China coast.
b.
Assistance in Search and Rescue within the Hong Kong Flight Information Region under the overall direction of the
Director of Civil Aviation.
Re-routing of H Ships North of 10° in the event of bad
Weather.
3. The Services in Hong Kong may be given minor commitments outside CBF's area of responsibility in addition to those delegated
by CINCFLEET to Commodore Hong Kong.
It is difficult to define
such commitments in suvance of their arising but the sort of thing envisaged is assistance in disaster relief operations or the administration of small units outside Hong Kong.
For example
there is at present a very small detachment of Royal Engineers working on a MACC project in the British Solomor.s Islands which is administered by Commander Land Forces Hong Kong.
