The Baroness Tweedsmuir

of Belhelvie,

Minister of State,

FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH OFFICE.

Priscilla

With reference to your letter of

20 July last and our tour of the Far East this is to thank you very much indeed for your kindness and interest.

In Sydney we were met at the boat and taken off more than promptly: we were also taken through the Opera House on the afternoon of our arrival.

In Canberra we had the morning tour that I arranged with the help of Mr. Millington (it was a most successful and enjoyable one) and Sir Morrice James gave a luncheon for us. In addition I had a valuable discussion with him.

In Hong Kong Sir Murray gave a luncheon for us which, similarly, was both enjoyable and helpful. In Tokyo Stephen Gomersall rang up on behalf of the Ambassador to be sure that we were all right.

When the occasion arises Margaret Rowell and I would be glad if you would express our appreciation of this kindness.

With every good wish and thank you again.

Youssuchely.
