27th April, 1973

One of the Government Whips, Mr. Jopling, has been invited to visit Hong Kong under arrangements made by the Anglo-Hong Kong Parliamentary Group. The visit will take place during the Whitsun recess and will last for about 10 days. The visit will be paid for by the Hong Kong Government. You will have seen Patrick Grattan's letter of 25th April giving the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary's approval and I should now be grateful if you would seek the same from the Prime Minister.

I am copying this to Grattan (FCO) and Robertson (Cabinet Office).
