PRIME
BY MON
MINISTER
Miss Kelly HKids. A
10 Downing Street Whitehall
27 April, 1973.

Thank you for your letter of 27 April about Mr. Jopling's visit to Hong Kong for ten days during the Whitsun recess. I have seen Patrick Grattan's letter of 25 April giving the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary's consent, and I confirm that the Prime Minister has no objection to this visit. I also agree that, in the circumstances, there is no objection to the cost of Mr. Jopling's visit being borne by the Hong Kong Government.
I am sending copies of this letter to Grattan (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) and Robertson (Cabinet Office).
P.J. Moore, Esq., Chief Whip's Office.
