We are currently making arrangements for the three Parliamentary visits to the British Forces overseas planned fo the Summer recess. The actual dates of the visits are:
Singapore and Hong Kong
Cyprus
8th 18th September

15th - 22nd September

24th - 7 Wh Heptember.
Mr Kershaw will be holding the customary meetings with the three parties when they will be briefed on the military presence in each of the areas and on the visit arrangements in general. The Minister would, if possible, like representatives of the FCO to attend to brief the parties on the political background to their visits. The first meeting for the Far East visit, will be held at 11 am on Tuesday 17th July, the second, for the Cyprus visit at 11 am on Wednesday 18th July and the third, for the visit to Germany, will be at 11 am on Thursday 19th July. A11 the meetings will be in Mr Kershaw's office at the Ministry of Defence.
Mr Kershaw would be very grateful if your Department could again agree to assist us in this way.
