July, 1973.
You may have heard that I am leading a Delegation to China later this year, and we anticipate arriving there on 1st November.
It was thought advisable to have one day in Hong Kong, before proceeding to Peking, and I have been asked by members of the Delegation (other than Peter Tapsell and myself) whether it is possible for you to arrange any kind of accommodation for our short stay in Hong Kong.
The Ariel Foundation are paying for our flight to Hong Kong. There will be
two members of the House of Lords and eight
from the House of Commons, and there is a
possibility that wives will also be in attendance. Up to date, Lady Kennet is the only wife who
has been invited officially.
I do not need help with accommodation
