Many thanks for your reassuring letter of the 2nd August, with details of how the M. P. 's who will visit here under Ministry of Defence auspices were briefed this year. They would seem to have been given plenty of the right kind of material; though we nevertheless very much hope that the Ministry of Defence will acquiesce in your suggestion that the Hong Kong Commissioner should attend future briefing meetings.
