question of Hong Kong's implementation of certain ILO Conventions,

following a supplementary Parliamentary question by Mr James

Sillars MP. We shall be following this up with the Hong Kong

Government.

4. Mr. Pendry is quoted as commenting on the preponderance of

business representation on the Executive and Legislative Councils

and saying that he would like to see more worker representation.

It is true that no trade unionist as such presently serves on the

Executive, Legislative or Urban Councils. However, Hong Kong is

run by a complex pattern of boards, councils and committees.
