1. In Sigel weuban-üxith's absence in Geneva I am replying to your letter F45 223/186/01 of 18 June.
2. *e feel strongly that a United kingdom representative should be present at this Conference in wellington as it could well be embarrassing vis-à-vis the Chinese if the sole UK representative Game from tiong Long. However there own be no question of the 100C meeting the cost of sending a delegate from London to a Conference like this, and I would hope that, given ir Kilgour's likely presence in the area at the time, your travel budget would be able to cover his attendance. If this proves im ossible the alternative would appear to be to ask a member of our iigh Commission in New Zealand to attend the meating, although you will, I am sure, agres that this will be neither easy for him, nor altogether appropriats.
