MP's LETTER
1.
Mr Goronwy Roberts MP has written to Mr Royle,
enclosing a letter from Dr Mansel Davies of Edward Davies
Chemical Laboratories, University College Aberystwyth.
Mr Roberts asks for comments on points raised by Dr Davies
about the administration of the Colony. Dr Davies spent
two days in Hong Kong on route to Japan.

In his letter Dr Davies raises three issues:
(i)
corruption in the Royal Hong Kong
Police Force;
(ii)
the administration of the Colony,
in particular absence of democratic government;
(iii)
education

he refers to a minimal
contribution by the Hong Kong Government
towards the cost of education beyond the age
of 15.
