As you are aware, the 1973/74 session of the Hong Kong Legislative Council was opened on October 17 and we have heard an excellent address from His Excellency the Governor. Sir Murray has not only reviewed the satisfactory progress made during the year but, more importantly, outlined clearly the Government's long- range plans in raising the standard of living and improving the quality of life of the people in Hong Kong.
In supporting the motion to express our thanks to His Excellency the Governor, I brought up a number of important issues about Hong Kong in my speech made on October 31 in the Legislative Council. One of these issues concerns the voice of Hong Kong people in the H.M. Government and I have pleasure in forwarding to you herewith a copy giving an extract of my speech on this particular subject. I trust that you would have an opportunity to take note of my suggestion.
I hope you will visit us in Hong Kong in the near future. With all the best wishes,
advice pl.
