HER ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCESS ALEXANDRA'S VISIT TO HONG KONG

The Governor has proposed 19-24 October for this visit his Tel. No 56 attached. I understand it is not possible to consult Her Royal Highness about this until mid-February and Protocol and Conference
Department have informed Hong Kong of this (FCO Tel No 68 attached).
2. I will keep in touch with Protocol and Conference Department on this.
3. The suggestion that the visit should take place at the end of October in order to enable Her Royal Highness to open the British Industrial Exhibition (paragraph 1 of Mr Laird's minute of 22 November 1971 at (10)) has apparently now been dropped. I understand that the dates of the Exhibition are likely to slip back.
