I am sorry that I did not realise you were to be away on your overseas trip so soon as I had hoped to see you before you left about one matter; also I find Mr Pullen is away.
I am writing therefore to let you know that the Board has carefully examined its requirements for a commit- tee structure and has c on cluded that there will no longer be a need for a special committee to look after the interests of Asia as a whole. In view of the con- tinuing importance however of the Japanese market, we have decided to ask Mr G C Nichols to continue the Japan Trade Advisory Group. We are also asking Mr Hamm to care for the Hong Kong TAG at any rate until after the October exhibition.
I would very much like to thank you and your Asia Committee for keeping its activities going until now, however; I am particularly conscious that you yourself have put a lot of hard work in.
