VISIT OF HRH PRINCESS ALEXANDRA TO HONG KONG
We spoke about briefing for this visit my minute of 1 September (28).
I have had all the briefs typed, except the Background Note (constitution). I attach the Note which was prepared for Princess Anne and suggest that the Brief for Princess Alexandra should be paras. 1 & 2 of the attached (deleting para 3 which was really only put in because of Princess Anne's own interests) plus, 3 paragraphs on Social services on Hong Kong. I attach a draft. I have also included, as agreed, a sentence or two about the problems at issue between HMG and Hong Kong.
My deadline for producing this brief is Friday.
