Mr Webb-Johnson telephoned me the other day to say that his report on the expansion of Welfare/ Quasi-Consular Services had now been approved. The Liaison Section would be expanded, and approval had been given in principle to the establishment of branch offices in Liverpool and Edinburgh.
It was likely that the Liverpool office would open this
summer.
