Applicants claiming a right to land in Hong Kong
United Kingdom citizens wishing to exercise a right to land in
Hong Kong should be requested to furnish proof to substantiate their claim
to have ordinarily resided in Hong Kong on a continuous basis for seven years. The application must then be forwarded to the Director of Immigration, Hong Kong for his decision (see paragraph 8).

The wife or child of a United Kingdom citizen wishing to exercise
a right to land in Hong Kong must meet this same requirement. Applications will be considered irrespective of the nationality held.
Froof of Residence in Hong Kong

Applicants themselves will usually be the best judge of what proof to produce to show that they have resided continuously in Hong Kong for seven years. Generally, however, consideration of the application will be greatly facilitated where documents are produced to show that the applicant had
(a)
established a home;
(b)
been employed;
(c)
been educated
In Hong Kong for at least seven years.
Acceptance of Claim

If the claim is accepted, the Director of Immigration will authorise the endorsement of the travel document (on the last available page) as follows: .
The holder of this travel document has the right
to land in Hong Kong. No visa is required.

Urgent Applications
8.
In cases of urgency, the person should be advised to make ination on arrival in Hong Kong. In such circumstances the normal six-months limitation on entry will apply pending consideration of the claim.
