past 10 years with the many facilities provided by the Urban Council,

particularly since the City Hall was opened in 1962.

The Cultural Services Division of the Urban Services Department

civic centre of Hong Kong. Its facilities include a concert hall

seating 1,488 and a theatre with 467 seats. Both are used to their

maximum capacity for various theatrical productions and all branches of

the performing arts, as well as civic and school functions.

Local and overseas artists are regularly engaged to give

performances and since 1965 the Urban Council has been organsing
