1. You will remember that when I was in Hong Kong last month we discussed the question of appointments from the Bar to the Bench.
2. As you know, Mr Tilney has shown interest in this question. It would therefore be most helpful if you could give us some idea of when we might expect to receive the two petitions (with of course the Governor's recommendations).
