restricted to a maximum 10% holdings are primarily institutions
of high repute and strong financial standing such as The Hong
Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation, The Inchape Group, the
Swires and EMI, Anglia, Time-Life International and NBC of
America. There is no question of delaying anyone. It is
neither in our power nor in our mind to do anything of the
sort.
We knew from the beginning that there would be
competition which we genuinely welcome. Nor do we seek any
special treatment from any quarter.
My Board is composed of responsible citizens, both
English and Chinese, who are in a special position to understand
the needs and the best interest of our community. My own
financial involvement is inconsequential but my interest is total in having a television station to serve our Community
in the best way possible. Therefore what is of grave concern
to my Board and my Advisers is the implication that we have
been driven to draw from the sequence of events.
