1. Now that the MOD have accepted the Treasury's adjudication of this dispute, it is up to us to take up with the Hong Kong Government the question of their payment for part of, the Snake Fence, cost.
2. I attach a draft letter to the Financial Secretary in Hong Kong which is based in part on an earlier draft you saw (which was not in the event issued). I should be grateful for any additions or amendments you might like to suggest.

1. I am sorry to have held this up. In general, the draft seems to cover all the necessary points but there are one or two changes which I should like to suggest.

Paragraph 1
To be strictly accurate the second sentence should perhaps read "We have exchanged letters with Jeaffreson about this, resting (except for corres- pondence clarifying a minor point) with his letter SCR 26/64 II of 5 February 1971".
