REPORTS TO HONG KONG ABOUT GATT
1. Thank you for your letter GVA/16/1 of 14 March offering to send me copies of your reports to Hong Kong about the proceedings of various GATT Committees.
Since these reports basically cover the same ground as the Mission covers in its Savingram reports to the FCO, and as we could always obtain copies of the Hong Kong reports from Miss Statham in the DTI, if necessary, I do not think there is any need for them to be copied to Trade Policy Department. But thank you for the offer.

The enclosure you refer to in your paragraph 3 was of interest, incidentally, as it made it clear to us in the FCO that Hong Kong are being kept fully informed about the progress of the GATT Code of Standards.
