There is also as I understand it the question

of the legal position with effect from our accession whilst the members of the enlarged EEC remain individual signatories.

I have covered both these points in the attached draft minute to the legal adviser.

Thirdly,

we undertook to write to our missions to the GATT and to the EEC to ask for their views on the practical means of enabling Hong Kong to present her views in the GATT following our accession.

3. I see from Mr Burns' minute to you of 25 May that he would like to see the draft of the letters to Ukmis Geneva and Ukdel Brussels. Has the attached draft been cleared with him? The letter will in any event have to be ad- dressed to some particular person in both Geneva and Brusssels.
