Delhi

Mr Rippon would like to spend the morning of Saturday 23 September and the whole of Monday 25

September in discussions with Indian Ministers concerned with Community matters. On Sunday 24 September he would like to visit Agra (which I understand to be a full day's trip).

Colombo

Mr Rippon hopes that official discussions will be possible on the afternoon of Tuesday 26 September and the morning of Thursday 28 September. On Wednesday 27 September he would like to visit a tea farm in the hill country, or other appropriate site outside the capital.

Nairobi

He would like to hold discussions with East African representatives in Nairobi on Friday 29 September and Monday 2 October. At the weekend Saturday 30 September - Sunday 1 October he would like the opportunity to visit the coast (perhaps Kitale or Malindi) or, if the weather is not suitable, to travel up-country.

Mauritius

At the end of what will have been a fairly tiring programme, Mr Rippon hopes that it will be possible to spend at least a couple of days in relative seclusion. He therefore hopes that only one day need be devoted to official talks in Mauritius.

Accommodation

Throughout his tour, Mr Rippon would prefer to stay in a suitable hotel, provided that the High Commissioner would agree to this. He recognises, however, that in certain countries (eg Bangladesh) it might be more con- venient if he were to stay with the High Commissioner. Mr Rippon will be accompanied on the tour by myself.
