Thank you for your letter of 9 August about Mr. Rippon's visit to Hong Kong from 10 to 15 September. The Prime Minister agrees, in view of the discussions which Mr. Rippon intends to have, that the basic cost, except for the three days which Mr. Rippon will be spending privately, should be borne at public expense.
