Now that I wear this hat I don't

know who to write to to ask for leave. therefore please trouble you?

I wish to leave here on Saturday, 5th August, and fly straight back to my home in Scotland. My address until further notice would then be:

I would then plan to go down to London in time to start work on Monday, September 11th, and leave for Hong Kong on either Thursday, 14th or Friday 15th, depending on how much there is to do.

It is not a very good time to take leave or to track people down in London as it is the height of the leave season, but if I am to get back in time for the PM's visit to Hong Kong

on September 23rd there doesn't seem any alternative.
