(ii) Those accommodated in Residences or other HMG
houses 1/3rd of the Class A or Class B rate (subject to the provisions of DSP Vol 22, chapter 8, paragraph 6) per night.

Lady Douglas-Home 75% of the Secretary of State's allowances per night.
Those staying at hotels (except at Bangkok) will have the cost of roon (suite in the case of Mr Leahy) standard breakfast, service and tax paid for by HMG. (Note that some hotels en route do not quote an inclusive bed and breakfast rate and, at these, members of the party should ensure they sign the breakfast bill for inclusion in the account submitted to Posts). In addition all members of the party staying at hotels will receive (except at Bangkok) one half of the standard Class A subsistence allowance with which to meet all other expenses including two meals a day.
(v) Those staying at hotels in Cangkok will recrive
the full standard Class A or B allowance

(according to entitlement) with which to meet all expenses.
Subsistence allowance will be issued by Posts.
(d) Extra Service Charges (gratuities)

Posts have been asked to advise the Private Secretary on appropriate extra service charges to be left by the Secretary of State and to issue cash accordingly.
Newspapers
COI have been asked to arrange that sets of London dailies for the Secretary of State & Head of News Department are sent out (to arrive if possible on the day of publication) to all Posts. Arrival details and way bill numbers will be advised by telegram.

Certain posts have advised that presents will be exchanged. A supply will be taken out in the aircraft.
