Lady Douglas-Home was then shown around the Department of
Occupational Therapy by Miss L.P. Martin, Superintendent Physiotherapist
Continuing her tour of the hospital she stopped for about 10
minutes at the Department of Physiotherapy where she was met by Miss

Lady Douglas-Home showed keen interest in the exercises the
patients were performing in both the occupational and physiotherapy
wards and was told that these exercises were meant to be strength
building and to improve dexterity in the use of fingers, hands and feet.
Her last stop was the School of Nursing where she was met
by Miss Beatrice Chan, Senior Nursing Tutor.
Lady Douglas-Home wound up her visit to the hospital at about
11.55 a.m. and left by helicopter to Harcourt Road and from there to
