FLIGHT. THIS HOULD ADD CONSIDERABLY TO THE COSTS INVOLVED. THE
SPIVE MINISTER'S ACRSEMENT WAS OBTAINED TO THE EXTENSION OF A
SCHEDULED RAF FLIGHT TO CHINA AND HOT TO A SPECIAL FLIGHT. IN
ADDITION RAF RESOURCES ARE FULLY STRETCHED: A SPECIAL FLIGHT WOULD
INVOLVE CANCELLATION OF OTHER FLIGHTS.
2. A NUMBER OF PROBLEMS ARISE IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR PREFERRED REVISED ARRANGEMENTS (ALL TIMES ARE GIVEN IN GMT).
(1) KAITAK OPENING HOURS ARE RESTRICTED BECAUSE OF RUNWAY
CONSTRUCTION TO THE PERIOD BETWEEN 2376 AND 1500. UNDER PRESENT
ARRANGEMENTS THE VC19 15 SCHEDULED TO ARRIVE IN HONG KONG FROM
UK AT 052310.
(11) FOR SECURITY REASONS RAF HONG KONG 1SIST ON MINIMUM STOP
OF 2 HOURS 15 MINUTES AT KA I TAK.
11) TO LEAVE KAITAK EARLIER THAN £60125 WOULD THEREFORE REQUIRE
RESCHEDULING OF WHOLE FLIGHT AND INVOLVE EARLIER DEPARTURE FROM UK.
THE AIRCRAFT IS ALREADY LEAVING 7 AND A HALF HOURS EARLIER THAN
MORIAL, ANOTHER ALTERATION MOULD INVOLVE ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT FAM-
ILIES BOOKED ON THE FLIGHT WHO ARE DISPERSED ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.
