You will remember that just before your departure last month for your visit to South Asia you discussed Hong Kong with Mr King who subsequently sent the attached minute to the FCO.
2. I understand that Mr Royle announced the offer of £m. for the Polytechnic when he was in Hong Kong recently but we know nothing further than that at this stage. We should receive a fuller report in due course. Mr Royle was, of course, briefed
to make the point referred to at X/ of Mr King's minute.
