About 40 members of the Hong Kong Protection of Tiao Yu Tai Action Committee staged a sit-in protest in front of the American Consulate- General on the evening of the 28th January 1972. On the following day they demonstrated again at the American Consulate-General and held a 'mass' rally over the Senkaku Islands issue.

Members of the Hong Kong Federation of Students and Hong Kong Federation of Catholic Students went to Government House to console and assist some 40 Jordan Valley hawkers who had been sitting-in and sleeping outside Government House, because they had not been offered a site in a newly opened bazaar.

About 25 members of the Hong Kong Protection of Tiao Yu Tai Action Committee went to the Japanese Consulate-General and American Consulate-General to hand in a protest note in connection with the Senkaku Islands issue.

Anti-British and Anti-Royalty posters were put up near the Star Ferry Concourse by members of the "'70's Bi-Weekly" and Secondary School Students Weekly.

About 60 persons including students of the Chinese University and members of the "70's Bi-Weekly" staged a sit-in outside Kowloon City Police Station in connection with the arrest of 11 persons over Anti-British and Anti-Royalty posters.

About 60 persons including members of the Hong Kong Federation of Students and "70's Bi-Weekly" proceeded from Edinburgh Place to Government House to submit a letter of protest; demanded that the petition be received by H.E. or the Governor's Aide-de-Camp. They refused to hand in the petition to the police guard, but read out the contents and burnt it at gate of Government House.
