Bi-weekly has been the driving force behind these.
Since the Hong Kong Government made sites
available for legal demonstrations lastaot
August, such demonstrations have taken place
peacefully. There is also a tendency to drop
earlier campaigns about the Chinese language
and the Senkaku Islands in favour of more
immediate practical issues, such as problems
of squatters and hawkers. This has won them
some public sympathy.
Conclusion
The paper concludes that the movement which
was started by dissident expatriates but is
now Chinese dominated is still small and has
not yet been particularly successful.

biggest danger at present is that the move-
ment's main manifestations ie public meetings
or demonstrations may lead to disorder. In
the general circumstances of Hong Kong, there
