PROPOSED VISIT TO HONG KONG BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE
1.
Mr Grattan (who has just taken over from Mr McCluney in the Private Office) telephoned last week to ask if we could let him have a note giving the background to the proposed visit to Hong Kong by the Secretary of State. I gather that it is now most unlikely that the SEATO meeting will be held in Australia in April 1972.
2. Would you please prepare a note which I can pass on to Mr Grattan.
