1. It was agreed last January that a letter should be sent

to the Governor seeking further information about this

project.

Sir D Trench has now replied to Sir L Monson's letter

of 29 January. Copies of the Governor's letter have been

sent to the Treasury, DTI, ECGD, the Bank of England and the

ODA, and to the departments in the FCO interested in this

project.

The DTI are in close touch with the British firms

interested in the project.

contacts in the Colony.
