DECLARATION between Great Britain and France, relative to the Division of Trophies and Booty.-Signed at Paris, July 10, 1855.
THE Government of Her Bri- tannic Majesty and the Govern- ment of His Majesty the Em- peror of the French, being de- sirous of regulating the mode of division of trophies and booty captured by their combined land forces, have agreed to apply to such division the principles laid down in the Convention of the 10th of May, 1854,* relative to captures at sea.
In consequence, it is agreed:
1st. That flags, cannon, and other articles which may be con- sidered as trophies, captured by corps, or parts of corps, belong- ing to the land forces of the 2 countries, and acting in common, with or without the co-operation of the combined naval forces, shall be equally divided between the 2 Governments.
2ndly. That such division shall be made by corps.
3rdly. That the first choice for each kind of trophy shall be de-

entendu :.
1. Que les drapeaux, canons, et autres objets susceptibles d'être considérés comme phées, pris par des corps, ou ties de corps, appartenant aux armées de terre des 2 pays, et agissant en commun, avec ou sans le concours des forces navales combinées, seront partagés par moitié entre les 2 Gouverne-
ments.
2. Que ce partage aura lieu par corps d'armées.
