mendicity or morals, shall, with their families, be received at all times and under all circum- stances, in the country of which they are natives, and where they shall have retained their rights conformably to the laws.
III. The dwellings and ware- houses of the subjects or citizens of either of the 2 Contracting Parties in the territories of the other, and all premises apper- taining thereto, destined for pur- poses of residence or commerce, shall be respected. No search of, or visit to, such dwellings and premises, and no examination or inspection of the books, papers, or accounts of the respective subjects and citizens, shall be arbitrarily made, but such mea- sures shall be executed only in conformity with the legal sen- tence, warrant, or order in writing of some tribunal or ma- gistrate having competent con- stitutional or legal jurisdiction.
The subjects and citizens of either of the 2 Contracting Par- ties in the territories of the other, shall moreover have free and open access to the courts of justice for the prosecution and defence of their rights. They shall enjoy in this respect the same rights and privileges as subjects or citizens of the country, and shall, like them, be at liberty to employ, in all causes, their advocates, attor- neys, or agents from among the persons admitted to the exercise of those professions according to the laws of the country.

Les demeures et les ma- gasins des sujets ou des citoyens de chacune des 2 Parties Con- tractantes sur les territoires de l'autre, ainsi que toutes les dé- pendances qui en font partie pour l'habitation ou pour le com- merce, seront respectés. Il ne pourra être procédé arbitraire- ment à aucune visite de ces habitations et dépendances, non plus qu'à une inspection ni à un examen des livres, écritures, ou comptes des sujets et citoyens respectifs; des mesures de cette nature ne devant avoir lieu qu'en vertu d'une sentence, d'un man- dat, ou d'un ordre par écrit d'un tribunal ou magistrat quelconque ayant compétence constitution- nelle ou légale.
Les sujets et les citoyens de chacune des 2 Parties Contrac tantes auront sur le territoire de l'autre partie accès libre et ouvert devant les cours de jus- tice, aux fins de poursuivre et de défendre leurs droits. A cet égard, ils jouiront des mêmes droits et privilèges que ceux dont jouissent les sujets ou les citoyens du pays, et ils auront, comme eux, la liberté de choisir dans toute cause leurs avocats, avoués, ou agents quelconques parmi les personnes admises à l'exercice de ces professions d'après les lois du pays.
