Clause 55 empowers the Governor in Council to make re- gulations for the purposes of the Ordinance. Such regulations will be sub- mitted to Council before the Ordinance is brought into force.

Clause 60 will place the onus of proving certain matters (relating to birth and nationality) on the person making the claim.

The First and Second Schedules make respectively con- sequential repeals and amendments to other legislation, and transitional provisions and arrangements.

Honourable Members will be asked to advise whether the Immigration and Deportation Bill 1971 should be introduced into the Legislative Council.
