The offences of adults at present punishable by caning are as shown below.
For brevity the language
is not necessarily legally correct.
1. Being in possession or control of arms or ammunition without a licence.

2. Robbery, being armed with any offensive weapon or instrument, or being together with one or more persons; robbery with violence.
3. Shooting, wounding or striking with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Attempting to choke etc in order to commit indictable offence. Common assault. Stealing child under 14 years old.
4. Any offence involving the larceny of any chattel, money, or valuable security from the person of any woman or child.

Piracy.
Rape or attempted rape of a girl under the age of sixteen years.

Carnal knowledge, or attempt at, of girl under 16.
Indecent assault of girl under 16.
9. The Peace Preservation Ordinance was repealed in between 1964 and 1967. I am trying to discover what, if anything replaced it, but the offences listed are:-

Assault with intent to coerce.
Larceny from dwelling houses, value $50 or more. Larceny with menace or threat from persons. Robbery or assault with intent to rob. Burglary. Housebreaking. Being armed or in possession of housebreaking implements at night. Demanding money etc with menaces.
Arson. Destroying or attempting to destroy with explosives. Damage to buildings by riot. Damage etc to machines. Damage to sea banks, bridges, railways etc. Other malicious damage.
Conspiring etc to commit murder, attempting cr threatening to murder.
Shooting,
wounding etc. Poisoning. Damaging by explosives or corrosive substances, by
spring guns, mantraps etc. Interfering with railway with intent to endanger passengers. Assault with intent. Making or having explosives with intent.
