1. Please see Mr Greenland's minute of the 3 May. There are vacancies for/Judges of the Supreme Court. The Governor
recommends Mr Morley-John, the most senior District Court Judge, and Mr Li the third in seniority.
if he does not give rise to any problems.
2. The one man he would pass over has had only a limited time on the District Court bench and his comparative seniority is due to his promotion to an equivalent post in the legal department.
3. Mr Morley-John does however present a problem. His confi- dential reports do not strike me as particularly impressive.
-4. I referred this case to Sir James McPetrie and he has sent a message on the attached sheet. My own inclination is to ask for an up-to-date report on the lines indicated in Sir J McPetrie's message.
