You will see from Murray's minute of 12 June, 1970 that we actually put into practice our suggestion of making the press release from News Dept an hour earlėer than previously, to allow the announcement to catch the early morning papers in Hong Kong. The embargo time found most convenient is midnight, Hong Kong time
(1600 hrs. BST), although News Dept release the information
earlier, in confidence.
