The Community Relief Trust Fund Ordinance was enacted in 1962. Since then, the Fund has been administered by the Director of Social Welfare as Trustee, acting on the advice of a statutory committee.
The Fund is used for making grants and loans to those in need
as a result of fire, flood, tempest, typhoon, or other occurrences causing suffering or loss to an extent which the committee considers
merits relief.
