When I wrote on the 8th October I promised to send you during this week a further Press Review, covering material about the Defence Contribution which appeared in the newspapers after Legislative Council met. One is now enclosed. It supplements what was said in our telegram number 762. -
I am also enclosing a copy of an extract from "Town Talk", which might be of interest.
The summary and assessment in the last paragraph of the telegram remains valid: that is to say, the subject has still not aroused the public excitement it might have done but opposition to what has been agreed nevertheless seems widespread.
