He spoke on the telephone yesterday about the submission of this question to the Defence and Overseas Folicy Committee. I subsequently consulted the Foreizm and Commonwealth Secretary's Private Office and they confirmed that it would not be possible to get this matter to the Committee at the meeting fixed for Friday 2 July. I understand that there 111 slmost certainly be another meeting of the Cosmittee next week, I would like to aim at having t:da prcolem considered by Ministers at that meeting, This adena that the subai-sion for the Foreign and Consonwealth Secretary would have to be ready to go forward by the end of this week, I very much hope therefore that you will be able to let us
ve any comments on the enclosed draft in time to enable us to adopt thie timetable.
