It is stressed that no provision has been made for future
price and wage increases; and up-costing to autumn 1970 prices has been limited to early projects for which reasonably firm
figures are avilable and to minor Part II and maintenance
services.
7. Married quarters. Total cost of proposed new item of married quarters and ancillaries is £9.5 million and runs beyond 1975/76 but planned expenditure within the five years is some
£7 million which is included in A and D of paragraph 2 above. This new item provides for approximately 850 quarters of which some 390 are required to replace hirings and 460 to raise scale
of provision.

We must emphasise that caveat in paragraph 6 of our saving despatch No.126 applies to the above figures. We hope that above information will be adequate for your purposes as indicating how it is planned that money will be spent.
