HONG KONG DEFENCE CONTRIBUTION
1.
You will have received copies of Hong Kong telegrams nos 225 and 226 of 1 April on the above subject.
2.
It is considered that we shall need to reply to telegram no 225 before Easter and since it may be necessary for the draft reply to go to Ministers, the preparation of a draft is a matter of some urgency.
3.
I shall accordingly be grateful to receive, if posible by noon on Monday 5 April, your comments on the telegram in question.
4.
Perhaps Defence Department would also comment on paragraph 5 of telegram no 226.
