BRITAIN'S House of Commons is to discuss the question of declaring Chinese an official language in Hongkong.

The issue will be raised by Member of Parliament, Mr James Johnson a staunch supporter of the movement for bilingualism in Hongkong.

Mr Johnson raised the matter in The House of Commons last November when he asked whether there was any "discrimina- tion" against the Chinese language in Hongkong.
