were eventually faced with a situation where the UK had come into the Community and itself discriminating against Hong Kong in favour of Taiwan and Korea. This seems to be a situation which we should do our very best to avoid, for political reasons in the context of our relations with China as well as for the obvious commercial impli- cations for Hong Kong.
