I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed Mr. A. T. Clark, J. P., provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be an Official Member of the Legislative Council with effect from 17th July 1971 during the absence from the Colony of Mr. D. R. W. Alexander, M. B. E., J.P.

Mr. Clark is currently the Deputy Director of Urban Services and has been appointed to act as Director of Urban Services during the absence of Mr. Alexander. He has previously served on the Legislative Council in a provisional capacity.

Copies of the Instrument of Appointment in respect of Mr. Clark and of the Gazette Notice promulgating his appointment are attached.
