of Chancery.

(i) Operational.

Until 1966 there was a Grade 7E Information

Officer, although in the absence of British

Council representation he was mainly concerned

with cultural affairs. Information work is now

minimal.

(ii) Future Developments

(iii)

Commercial opportunities are likely to increase

in the developing Korean market.

British Council and BBC

The British Council could profitably operate in

Korea. According to the recent Information

Policy Report our information effort would best

be served by this.

Reception of the BBC is very poor and few, if

any, Koreans try to listen.

But the BBC are
