ations
High Commissioni) There were none in 1970/71. Plans are in
hand, though somewhat nebulous, for the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company Edinburgh to visit Singapore in 1972.
Kii) This is outstanding from last year. The Representative has been looking for alternative premises but as yet he has found nothing to satisfy the Council. It may be that the Council will have to revise upward their idea of a reasonable rent.
(1) The premises at Bandang are still with- out a roof. This is because the owner, having accepted 6 years rent in advance from the Council, ran out of funds. It may be that in order to get the job finished the Council will have to advance a further two years rent, but they say they have made provision for this.
(ii) The Ambassador realises that educational work must come first in Indonesia but a small cultural programme would be well received in Indonesia as a sign of British interest in the country as well as for its intrinsic value. The Council say there is a chance that the Royal Lyceum Theatre Co. Edinburch will visit Indonesia in 1972 umerther auspices.
